Doggy Boarding School is for dogs of all ages and
breeds. During boarding school, dogs live with
Florence, our owner, and are treated like members of the
family. Dogs typically work on issues like housebreaking,
jumping up on people, nuisance barking, destructive
chewing, pulling on leash, running off/not coming when
called, separation anxiety, and overall
non-responsiveness. Boarding School has a "whole dog"
focus so training is comprehensive addressing all parts
of the dog's behavior and temperament. Dogs have
several formal training sessions each day learning basic
through advanced skills that are customized to fit
your needs. The main focus of training is to teach your
dog how to be obedient, well-mannered, and have
self-control.
All training is done using positive reinforcement techniques including learning
through games and play in order to motivate your dog to want to listen rather than
being physically forced to do so. No punishment or harsh methods, choke, prong, or
shock collars are ever used.
Even though your dog will be away at boarding school, owners are still very involved
in the training process. Boarding school works best when paired with Private
Training so owners can learn to maintain all of the behaviors the dog has learned.
Boarding School is great for busy people who do not have the significant amount of
time required to properly train their dog. It's also good for those who do not want to
get up several times during the night to housebreak a puppy! Boarding School also
works well for families who want their dog to learn complicated tricks like fetching a
beer from the fridge, bringing you the remote control, or any other creative
behaviors.
Boarding School is available for dogs who are local in Seattle as well as those in other
areas/states. Pick up and drop off arrangements can be made including air travel
with your dog.
